![]() ![]() ![]() About Us
![]() The Dixie Rockers is a seven-piece band from the Monroe-Ruston, Louisiana area. It is a variety band, or as we like to call ourselves, "a little funk-n-roll-country-blues band". The current line up, Bruce "Rue Rue" Futch, Eric "Eddie Gunter" Brode, Doug Johnson, Tommy Miller and "Eddie Wayne Earl", have been together off and on for about twenty-five years. The newest member to the group, Donna Taylor or "D-Rae" as her fans call her, is our harmonica player and backup singer. She started with the band three years ago, after cutting her teeth with some of the premier blues players in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. Some of whom are "Rockin' Tabby Thomas", Henry Gray, John Semineaux, "T-Bone" Singleton, Johnny Rosetti, Oscar Davis, and "Smokehouse".
The music the Rockers cover ranges from the 50's through the 90's. We are a high energy band that borders on "SHOW BAND" status sometimes. We have opened shows and have played on the same bill with such recording artists as the Bellamy Brothers, George Strait, Hank Williams Jr., David Allan Coe, Neal McCoy, Jerry Jeff Walker, Billy Joe Royal, "Gatemouth" Brown, Jeannie C. Riley, John Wesley Rials, Johnny Paycheck, Joe Stampley and Charlie McClain. The Dixie Rockers is one of the best party bands in the South and all the musicians are professionals who love their fans and making music and would be a hit anywhere they play.
The Dixie Rockers have a new CD in line to be released sometime around the middle of March, entitled SOUTHERN LIVIN'. The material is all original songs written, sung and produced by the leader of the band, Denny "Fathead" Taylor, and is a variety of music.
For bookings or orders for the CD, please contact us at our e-mail address or physical address, or we can be reached at 1/318/644-4482.
